Interview of Dr John Leung

Dr. John Leung, Associate Vice-President (Knowledge Exchange) of HSUHK & HSUHK Director of IKE, recently appeared on a Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK) program to discuss the practical uses of Web3 and blockchain technology.

Instead of using complex terms, Dr. Leung focused on everyday examples. He explained how blockchain’s secure ledger can help prevent fraud and simplify verification. For example, academic credentials and professional certificates can be issued on a blockchain, allowing employers to verify them instantly and reducing forgery.

He also addressed ticket fraud, showing how Web3 can improve ticketing by creating unique, non-transferable digital tickets. This ensures ticket authenticity, prevents counterfeiting, and stops scalping, benefiting consumers.
