HSUHK Hosts Seminar on Crisis Management for a Resilient Future

 

The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK), in collaboration with the Future Intelligence-Related Skills and Training Hub (FIRST-HUB), successfully organized the seminar “Leading Through the Storm: Crisis Management for a Resilient Future” on April 12, 2025. Held at The Create Tower in the West Kowloon Cultural District, the event brought together experts and professionals to discuss strategies for navigating crises and fostering resilience in organizations and communities.

 

The seminar featured a distinguished panel of speakers, including Dr. Fan Ning, Chairman of Forget Thee Not, who shared valuable insights on effective communication during crises. Dr. May Lam, Founder and President of the Hong Kong Mental Wellness Association, addressed the importance of healing post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) as a critical element of crisis recovery. Mr. Wong Siu Fung, Bruce, President of the Hong Kong Volunteer Rescue Association, emphasized the role of prevention in crisis management, while Dr. Joyce T.K. Ching, Head of International & Relief Service at the Hong Kong Red Cross, provided valuable knowledge on managing crises within non-governmental organizations (NGOs).

 

Moderated by Dr. Li Chan Wing, a professional trainer for government departments and corporations, the seminar facilitated dynamic discussions on the importance of preparedness, mental health, and practical strategies for managing emergencies. Attendees from various sectors, including healthcare, education, government, and NGOs, engaged in meaningful dialogues about how to build a more resilient future.

The event highlighted the pressing need for proactive measures, clear communication, and collaboration in the face of adversity. Speakers shared actionable strategies for navigating crises, addressing mental health challenges, and fostering sustainability within organizations and communities.

 

With the success of this seminar, HSUHK and FIRST-HUB reaffirmed their commitment to equipping professionals and organizations with the necessary tools to thrive during times of crisis.
